YES it spins just like the real thing !! ANIMATE your rooftops and make them look real. This vent just requires a 1/8" hole to be tapped in your rooftop and you can install a Real operating/spinning vent on your rooftop. New in our Animated Detail line
*** Motor can run off of a 1.5V battery pack (batteries and battery pack not included--- can be purchased at Radio Shack for example)
or it can run off an train accessory pack that supports 3V, 6V or 9V accessories for your layout......
** Vent can be set to spin at 3 different speeds to set to your liking.......variable by the Voltage it is running off...
We have ours running off a battery pack in line with a shut off switch....very easy and simple to set up !! It took about 15 minutes**
