This unit just requires as small as a 1/8" hole to be tapped in your model and you can install a Real operating/spinning motor *** Motor can run off of a 1.5V battery pack (batteries and battery pack not included--- can be purchased at Radio Shack for example) or it can run off an train accessory pack that supports 3V, 6V or 9V accessories for your layout......with an inline resistor as needed for you specific power source Motor unit is approx 2 inches long x 1.25 inches tall x 1 inch wide so it will fit many applications. ** Vent can be set to spin at 3 different speeds to set to your liking.......variable by the Voltage it is running off... We have ours running off a battery pack in line with a shut off switch....very easy and simple to set up !! It took about 15 minutes**
